Repeal Day Party
Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Continuously Legal Drinking!
Friday, December 5, 2008
3:00pm to 2:00am
With Ohio, Pennsylvania and Utah's vote counts in, the Repeal of the 18th Amendment occurred at 4:31 p.m. on December 5, 1933 - ending 13 years, 10 months, 19 days, 17 hours and 32.5 minutes of Prohibition.
"What America needs now is a drink," declared President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the end of Prohibition.
December 5, 2008 marks 75 years of continuously legal drinking. Come celebrate with us and raise a toast to those who bravely championed the cause of the cocktail!
Try out these drink features, inspired by the era:
- Prohibition Cocktail - a gin cocktail with a touch of apricot
- The Capone - a citrusy cocktail featuring rye and orange flavors, topped off with some sparkles
- Gin Cocktail - a simple, elegant gin cocktail with a bit of effervescence
- The Volstead Toddy - spicy-smooth blend of Batavia Arrack, Pendleton’s Whiskey & a touch of pastis (served warm)
- Templeton Rye Prohibition-Era Whiskey - this is the legendary rye whiskey made by Iowans, and made famous by Al Capone (served neat or on the rocks)
- and more!
Don't miss a night of In Fine Spirits fun!
